Why rent your baby's necessities?

28 May 2019

When we talk about rentals, we think about renting cars, hotel rooms, reception areas, etc. but we never think of renting baby products for our children.

And why not ?

We tend to think that by renting we throw our money from the window, that we can come across anything and everything, that we will never find our standards of safety and security and hygiene etc.

We have a lot of reasons not to rent,

But reasons to rent? We also have plenty!

Reason number 1: Holidays!

By renting on the spot, we end up being able to travel without the hassle and the soared arms. We know that on our arrival, we will find our children’s bed or stroller or games ... and this will make our trip easier, simpler, less tiring and above all, it will free up space for us parents and our things ;) or even free up some space for other people if we are travelling by car (And why not offer carpooling to make a little money on holidays now that we have all this space?!)

By renting on site, we can also satisfy the wishes of the entire family.

The youngest will have their scooters and games to spend the day and have fun, the parents will find comfort with baby sleeping in his little bed next to them. Beach outings or picnics will no longer need extra planning to keep everyone busy and enjoying and you will not feel the time pass!

Reason number 2: The short duration of use of certain products!

Babies, we wait for them 9 months and sometimes way more, we make sure that on their arrival they will miss nothing.

We want to pamper them, we want them to have it all, and we want the best for these little beings!

But in truth, we know very well that most of the things we bought are not necessities; we also know that some necessities are only needed for a few months and that we will have to get rid of them soon enough as babies grow up fast.

These products, by renting them, we not only save money but most importantly, we participate in the reduction of waste and mass consumption which is so bad for our pockets but especially for the planet.

By renting products of short duration of use, we guarantee them a longer life and we participate in our way to the protection of our planet without realizing it!

Reason number 3: Cheaper!

Okay, is renting something for a week when you can buy it and keep it really the most economical solution?

Technically, sometimes it is cheaper to buy the game for the beach that your kid claims he wants so strongly than to rent it for the week.

But once the holidays are over, the time of departure is here and the suitcases are in place, who will volunteer to free up space to take back home this “well needed game” knowing that once at home it will end at the bottom of a closet or in the cellar or in the trash for lack of space and use?

Reason number 4: Granny has no space!

Children often come to spend a few days with grandparents, so we buy the whole panoply to avoid carrying everything on each trip! But when the grandchildren go back home, the grandparents must find space to store all these bulky items and dust them off from time to time!

Reason number 5: No need to share the bed!

Going to spend a weekend with friends or family or even at the house you rented for the occasion? You can all sleep peacefully now, parents and baby, to each their bed. After all, the holidays are made so parents can have some rest too!

Reason number 6: time to settle down!

A transfer, a move, a temporary job or seminar …? Sometimes we do not know what life has in store for us!

We must adapt and quickly! So, we rent everything on the spot, the time to get organized, settle down, and then bring our furniture (or not, if it's not for a long time, it's not worth it!), and by renting you have one less thing to worry about!

As you have seen, there are many reasons to buy, but there are plenty of reasons to rent as well!

So do not hesitate a second, plan your holidays or your travels on the Côte d'Azur and let Pony on Wheels take care of the rest!

Nice Carnival 2026 "Vive la Reine" — A Historic Edition Wraps Up, and Love is Already in the Air for 2027 The confetti has settled on the Promenade des Anglais. The giant papier-mâché heads have returned to their workshops. And as of this Sunday, March 1st, the Nice Carnival 2026 "Vive la Reine!" has officially closed its curtains — leaving behind memories that will be talked about for years to come. If you were in Nice with your family over the past few weeks, you witnessed history. And if you're already thinking about next year? We have two words for you: "Vive l'Amour" . 👑 "Vive la Reine!" — A Record-Breaking, Groundbreaking Edition This year's carnival made history on multiple fronts. For the first time in the event's 730-year history, a Queen — not a King — ruled over Nice. The theme "Vive la Reine!" was a bold, powerful tribute to the great heroines of history and fiction: the women who shaped our world. The spectacular "Vive la Reine" floats lighting up Nice's Place Masséna during the 2026 edition. The Queen herself was no ordinary figure. Designed by artistic director Caroline Constantin, she stood as tall as her male predecessor — a first — and led the parade ahead of the King. With a green crown of flowers, butterflies and birds, and a frog (the future prince consort!) perched on her hand, she embodied Mother Nature in all her power. Regal, symbolic, unforgettable. The numbers confirm the edition's success: more than 420,000 visitors and Niçois* gathered over the 18 days of festivities — a new record. From the illuminated night parades (corsos illuminés) on the Promenade des Anglais, to the Carnival Village on Square Leclerc with its daily workshops and family activities, to the beloved Bataille de Fleurs, to the Carnavalina street party — there was magic everywhere, for all ages. And the closing ceremony? It came with a twist. In keeping with the spirit of the edition, Mayor Christian Estrosi made a firm decision: "On ne brûle pas les femmes!" — "We don't burn women!" So in a symbolic break with 150 years of tradition, it was the King consort who was committed to the flames on Saturday, February 28th, followed by a fireworks display above the Baie des Anges. A deeply moving, goosebump moment that summed up everything "Vive la Reine!" stood for. 🎠 Families at the Heart of the Celebration One of the most beautiful aspects of this edition was how accessible and family-friendly the whole event was. The daytime parades were particularly popular with families with young children — colourful, joyful, and perfectly paced for little ones. The Carnival Village welcomed visitors every day with free creative workshops, musical performances, and gourmet stands. Children in full costume got free entry to the pedestrian zones of the illuminated corsos — a brilliant tip that many families took full advantage of. And for the very youngest, the afternoon charivari events offered a gentler, crowd-free introduction to the carnival magic. 💛 What's Next: "Vive l'Amour!" in 2027 Before the last float had even disappeared from view, Mayor Estrosi was already looking ahead — and his announcement sent a warm ripple through the crowd. The Nice Carnival 2027 will run from 9 to 28 February 2027, under the most universal theme imaginable: "Vive l'Amour!" — Long Live Love! As Estrosi put it: "Since the beginning of time, writers, poets and ordinary people have tried to find the right words for this feeling — sometimes gentle, sometimes burning. With this theme, and with a Queen now equal to the King, we will continue to write the most beautiful pages of the Great Book of Carnival." After the power of "Vive la Reine!", love feels like the perfect next chapter. Expect floats, costumes, and an atmosphere that will celebrate romance, connection, and joy in all its forms — perfectly timed for February, the month of Valentine's Day. Mark your calendars: 9–28 February 2027. Tickets will go on sale on the official site later in the year. 🧸 Planning a Family Trip to Nice?
